Found 34 Cents Today

Today I had an appointment in the morning and stopped at McDonald's first. I found a dime and eight pennies there! Then I went to the post office and while walking back to my car, I found a nickel in a parking space.

Then at the dollar store I found a dime and a penny! Yay! Thirty four cents to end out the month!

Found 31 Cents Today

This morning I took out the trash and found a penny by the dumpster! I was happy but then later today I had to return some library books that were due. After dropping them off and choosing a few other books, I walked around the parking lot of a large shopping center.

Here's what I found:
  • a dime in an empty parking space
  • a nickel in another empty parking space
  • a penny in a Chipotle parking lot
  • a penny in a bank drive through driveway
  • three pennies and a nickel in a fast food drive through
  • a nickel behind a car
Yay! I just love finding money! Have you been lucky lately?

I posed this found money next to a quilted bookmark I made. I have other similar (and different) handmade items for sale in my Etsy shop.

Found 36 Cents and a Large Spanish Coin

Today I realized I only had enough coffee to make some tomorrow. Well, that is what I call a coffee emergency! So, I walked to Fry's to get both decaf and regular. I mix it about one-third regular and two-thirds decaf so I buy both.

On the way, I saw this dime in a parking lot behind a truck. Then in the grocery store, I found the penny on the floor and the quarter in the change slot (that little extra one that has a metal door that flaps). The quarter was wedged in the slot sideways so I'm glad I felt around a little bit!

Then as I was walking home I saw the large gold tone coin sitting on a parking stop thing. You know, where you pull up and there's that concrete thing that indicates you've driven far enough. It's a large Spanish coin that reads:  Espana 500 Pesetas on one side and on the other side Juan Carlos I y Sofia 1988. After a quick search, it looks like uncirculated coins are worth about $5. Hot dog! I won't add any dollar amount to my blog but this was a nice find!

This month I've found coins from Ecuador, Mexico, and Spain! And the U.S., of course.

This Found Money Facts:
Denomination:  1 penny, 1 dime, 1 quarter, 1 Spanish coin
Year:   penny:  2007; dime:  1982; quarter:  1979; Spanish coin:  1988
U.S. Mint:  penny:  D; dime:  D; quarter:  none; Spanish coin:  none
Condition: mostly all shiny

Found Six Cents On a Post Tax Prep Walk

Today I decided I'd put it off long enough. I did my taxes. It took two tries (second time's a charm). In between I took a walk to blow off some steam. I swear there may have steam really coming from my ears. I hate to do taxes!

Any way, on my walk, I spotted six pennies:  in a parking lot, in the street, in a drive through, at a gas station, in front of a car wash. That's just five but I don't remember where I found the other one. Doesn't matter. I found it!

Have you had any luck finding money? I hope so!

This Found Money Facts:
Denomination:  6 pennies
Year:   pennies:  2 are unreadable, 2000, 2002, 2007, 2011
U.S. Mint:  pennies:  2 are unreadable, D, D, D, D

Found 17 Cents Today While Out and About

Today I had to go to the post office so I parked across the street and trucked on over. I didn't find any money on the way or at the post office, dog gone it! But as I took the long way back to my car, here's what I found:
  • a penny in the street, actually IN the street this time, not in the gutter
  • a dime in a parking lot
  • the nickel between two cars as I walked to Wal-Mart
Yay!

The previous two days I found 16 cents each day and that was what I had found at this point. What a coinky dink, I thought!

But then I drove to Fresh and Easy, and in the change tray was a penny waiting for me when I checked out, so today I broke the 16-cent streak. I found 17 cents.

I posed the money next to some button bouquets I made last night while watching TV. I'll probably list them in my Etsy shop one of these days.

This Found Money Facts:
Denomination:  2 pennies, 1 nickel, 1 dime
Year:   pennies:  2001, 2004; nickel:  2004; dime:  1978
U.S. Mint:  pennies:  D, none; nickel:  D; dime:  D

Found Two Mexican and Three U.S. Coins

Today I took a walk and headed in to El Supre, a Mexican grocery store. I found 2 Mexican coins in a coin machine and a U.S. nickel on the floor!

Then I spotted a dime in the parking lot and on the way home I found a penny on the sidewalk. Yay!

I posed the coins on a curb next to some pretty yellow and orange flowers. I'm only counting the U.S. coins for my found money total since it's too hard to convert the Mexican coins (to me it is anyway!).

This Found Money Facts:
Denomination:  1 penny, 1 nickel, 1 dime; 2 Mexican coins
Year:   penny:  1983; nickel:  1992; dime:  2013; Mexican coins:  50 cent, 2002 and $2, 2012
U.S. Mint:  pennies:  D; nickel:  P; dime:  D
Condition: range from tarnished to shiny and everything in between

Found Lots of Junk and 3 Pennies

Today I walked to Goodwill since it's half off day, don't ya know! And on the way, I found a penny in the street then found a penny in the parking lot in front of a grocery store then another penny on the floor of the grocery store. I found some good treasures at Goodwill but no money there.

I did pick up the junk shown in this photo. I tend to do that as my little way of helping out the car tires. I figure each nail and screw and fork (yes, see that flattened fork?) I pick up, maybe one tire will be spared.

I throw the junk in a bag and recycle it for scrap (and get a whole 8 cents a pound!) when I take cans to recycle.

To see a vintage towel I snagged this morning, check out my Etsy shop. It's the blue and green towel with cool graphics.

This Found Money Facts:

U.S. Mint:  pennies:  D, D, D
Condition: tarnished
