Found 13 Cents, a Giant Nail, and a Light Lighter

Today I went to two grocery stores and at one, I found a dime under a water vending machine. At the second one, I found two pennies, one on the floor and one in a change tray at the self-checkout line. This penny was wedged in sideways but I was able to realign it and get it to fall down the chute.

Then this evening I took a short walk, and I first found a light lighter (it looks like an optometrist's light) that actually still works! Then I found a penny in a parking lot, and finally I found the giant nail shown in the photo.

I saw this optometrists' eye chart lighter on Amazon. Cool, huh?

I just love finding good junk and money!

Found Two Pennies in a Parking Lot Tonight

This evening I took a walk, a little longer than normal, but I'm so tired still that I decided maybe I need more exercise. More being the operative word since I haven't been getting hardly any lately, which can make you darned sluggish, too.

So on my walk, I found 2 pennies in a parking space in a neighboring parking lot. Yay! I love to find money!

Have you found any recently? I hope so. And lots!

Finally Feeling Better and I Found 17 Cents

Today I finally ventured out again, having just left the house last week to go to the doctor and a quick trip to the store. I'm recovering well from the shingles. Ugh. Can't believe I got shingles!

Here are my articles chronicling this malady:  I Have Shingles and On the Mend from the Shingles. I'm so glad this is running its course.

I just checked and there's this handy dandy book to understanding shingles. I would have liked to have known more about it before I became afflicted!

Today I went to the thrift store to drop off some books. I'm trying to declutter inch by inch. Seven books out the door. Yay!

Then I headed to the library where I had some books on reserve waiting for me. Then I went to the grocery store where I found four coins:

  • a penny in a change tray
  • a nickel in the change tray of a copier
  • a penny on the floor
  • a dime near a checkout lane

It had been almost a week since I'd found any money so I was tickled pink!

Found Two Pennies and What's Really Wrong With Me

Last week I went to the doctor and was told I had a sinus infection. My right eye started feeling extremely itchy later in the week and today I went back to the doctor. I have shingles.

Ugh. I hate it! So check out the link above if you want to see my weirdo get up for keeping a blister near my eye covered so I don't scratch it.

Have you had shingles? Did you survive? I hope so, and guess so if you lived to read this.

Oh, and I found two pennies today. One on the floor of the post office and one at the pharmacy on the floor.

Found a 1942 Mercury Dime Plus More Coins

Today I ran some errands and while out here's what I found:
  • a dime on the floor at the dollar store
  • a penny in the parking lot of the dollar store
  • a penny on the floor at the grocery store
  • a 1942 Mercury dime under the coin machine at the grocery store
  • a dime on the grocery store floor
I was so thrilled to find so many coins but especially the 1942 Mercury dime! Woo hoo! I looked it up and it appears to only be worth about $2 but that's okay. I'll keep this coin separate. I'll put in a pinch dime, sort of like a pinch hitter, in my found money jar.

Have you ever found older coins just lying around? I think they're treasures! Checkout these instant treasures:

Found Two Pennies in a Parking Lot

Today I picked up my granddaughter from school then spent the afternoon with her. It was great. She finished reading the last Harry Potter book and I read the newspaper and played on the iPad and napped a little bit.

Later, on the way home, I stopped to get a few things at the grocery store and found two pennies in the parking lot on the way out.
