Found a Penny in Prescott

My son and I drove up to Prescott, Arizona today to beat the heat. The high here in Phoenix was 115, but it was a pleasant day north of here. The temperature ranged from 73 to 92 (but we think the 92 was incorrect since just a few blocks away, another bank posted the temperature as 83). The cool weather felt wonderful after weeks of 110+ temperatures!

Anyway, it was very nice to get out of Dodge. When we got to Prescott, it was raining. We walked around the town square and courthouse. The photo shows a war memorial on the courthouse square. Rain is another rarity in Phoenix, so I was in hog heaven! As we walked, I spotted this penny on the sidewalk. Yay!

I went to a thrift store and found some goodies. We went to Willow Lake and walked around the trails and down the dock over the water where we saw a ton of pretty blue dragonflies, several frogs, some fish, and lizards. It still is Arizona, after all.

Check out ParkGrades.com for a review of the Prescott Courthouse Plaza.

Found a Penny at the Fabric Store

Today I ran some errands, which included going to this big fabric store that is el cheapo. I love it! It has bins of buttons, buckles, and badges plus all the bolts of fabric. I first went there to get black out fabric for my windows. This visit I was just checking out all the extra junk.

Anyway, as I was leaving today I spotted this penny on the floor. The picture shows some of the cool patches I found from rummaging through the bins.

Found a Penny Stuck in the Tar

I volunteered today and read a book about Eisenhower. He was president when I was born so don't recall a thing about his presidency first hand, and I don't remember learning much about him in school either. I read near the end of the book and learned a few things with the 20 or so pages I read. One thing I read was that he was a president who didn't just jump into wars, which is a fine trait, I think. He helped get British troops out of the Suez Canal area so it could be opened again for trade. Very interesting.

When I was finished recording two files, I drove to Fresh and Easy (am I predictable or what?). On the way into the store, I spotted a penny stuck in the tar. I wasn't sure I'd be able to pry it up but it must have just fallen there. I lifted it right up with my finger.

Since it came right up, it must not have had too many cars drive over it either. The high today was 109 so the tar melts and with a little pressure, the coin get sucked down into the gunk.

Found a Dime at Fresh and Easy

Today I ran some errands after I volunteered. Speaking of volunteering, I haven't found any more pennies in several weeks after I volunteer and walk to my car. Maybe it was a snow bird dropping the money and they flew home to a cooler climate for the summer.

Any way, today at Fresh and Easy as I was walking into the store, I found a dime in the parking lot.

Found a Penny at Big Lots and a Lucky Penny in the Mail

Today I ran out to the bank and the post office. No found money at either place then I ran into Big Lots for a few things. Under one of the shelves was this penny!

Then in the mail, I got this cool lucky penny in a silver horseshoe key chain from my friend Marilyn. I love them both!

I found two cents in the street

Yes, I found two pennies in the street today when I was pulling out of the post office parking lot. I checked and there were no cars behind me or heading my way so I put the car in Park and trotted out and picked up the pennies. I only saw one of the pennies from the car but saw a second one once I was out of the car.

They are pretty beat up, but I don't care. I imagine they had been driven over numerous times.
