Found 30 Cents Today on a Walk and at Fresh and Easy

Today I took my magnet (like this one shown here) for a walk down an alley. I didn't get very far when I spotted a guy out spraying for weeds, I guess. Since I don't like an audience nor wanted to breathe that crap, I left and went to the next alley over.

I found a penny near a bunch of junk that people had dumped. Then pretty soon I spotted another one. I walked on and saw a quarter sort of buried in the dirt. I'm surprised I saw it. It is a mess. Then I found one more penny!

I was thrilled! I left and went to the library and picked up some DVDs and books. Then I went to Fresh and Easy. On the way in, I saw a penny in a change tray, so I snagged it. At the markdown section, they had $4.99 containers of grapes on sale for $1.57, so I got two! Then as I was walking to my car I saw another penny beside a car. Yay!

Found Two Pennies at the Gas Station and Grocery Store

Today I went to the second visit of the drug study I'm doing. Of course the hardest part was getting up early. We had to be there at 7 a.m., which is before I'm usually even up and at 'em. Oh well, I was only about 7 minutes late.

After I got my shot, I left and went to the gas station. Behind the pumps on the ground, I found a penny! Then I went to Fry's grocery store for a few things (mostly orange juice but got sucked in by the "buy 5 and get $5 off" offer). I spotted a penny on the floor so picked it up.

I posed my found coins next to a mod pillowcase for sale in my Etsy shop. Groovy, man.

Found One Penny in Some Dirt

Today I ran a few errands and I found a penny by the sidewalk in some dirt. It's a mess so I'm not going to bother taking its picture. Just imagine a really dinged up, tarnished penny. There. That's what it looks like.

Okay, last time I mentioned that my CD/DVD drive was spitting out my DVDs. Boo hiss! It also spit out the lens cleaner CD I bought. Well, then I bought some CD/DVD FastWipes. Just like these shown here. Problem solved! At least for now! Yay!

Found 2 Dimes and 2 Pennies Today

Today I ventured out for awhile. First I went to the dollar store and on my way in, I spotted a dime in front of the store on the road.

Then I went to a park and met up with my daughter in law and granddaughter. As I was getting out of my car, right there in the parking lot I spotted a dime. I picked it up and saw a penny. Then as I was walking to the park, I saw another penny between two cars.

I got this lens cleaner because my computer's CD/DVD drive keeps spitting out my DVDs. This is supposed to clean it. Ha. It spit this one out, too. Have to take my computer in to get it fixed or replaced. At least it's still under warranty.

Found 28 Cents While Running Errands

Well, if I felt better, I might have kept flitting from place to place.

Today I ran a bunch of errands and here's what I found:

~ a quarter on the floor at the post office
~ a penny in a check out aisle at the dollar store
~ a penny on the floor at the entrance of Goodwill
~ a penny in the parking lot walking to my car

I was shocked. It was like coins were just waiting for me to find them. But I also went to Big Lots and Fresh and Easy and didn't find a thing.

Oh, and I found the button in a parking lot.

Found a Penny in That Same Parking Lot

This evening I took my camera out just as the sun was getting ready to set. It was nice and cool and the air smelled so good! Orange blossoms, I think. Anyway, I wish I could bottle the scent and have it in my house when I wanted.

I took a few photos, nothing too exciting, then I walked across the street to the office building parking lot. I found this penny!

I swear it wasn't there yesterday, but it's sort of a mess so it might have been. But I can't read the date or mint initial. The back of it is black.

Anyway, hope your Monday was good. I'm still recuperating from this crud and hope it's gone soon.

Found a Penny on the Floor at Fresh and Easy

Well, I decided to run over to Fresh and Easy for a few things this evening. On my way to check out, I spotted a penny on the floor. Two in one day!

The coin was under a display case that had a little recessed area. I saw it as I walked toward it. I wouldn't have seen it when I was right in front of it.

The moral of the story:  Keep your eyes peeled at all times!

Found a Penny in the Parking Lot Across the Street

I've been feeling poorly. It's just a cold, I think, but it keeps lingering. So, I haven't been out and about much lately. I did go to the post office and grocery store the other day but have mostly been staying home.

Today I decided to get myself dressed, take out the trash, and go for a little walk. I walked across the street to the office building parking lot where I often find coins. I found this penny!

I posed it next to some bottle cap earrings I made and am selling in my Etsy shop. Since most the bottle caps are from Mexican beer, I cut up a taco box for display.

Have you found any money recently? Have you eaten any tacos?

Today I Found Two Pennies

It's March in Phoenix, which means it's heating up. The high today? 89 degrees Fahrenheit. Ugh. Too hot for this early!

As hot as it is, I know it's only going to keep getting hotter so I took a little walk today (with my magnet down an alley). I found a penny and some good junk. Then I went to the library and to Michael's. I walked by a Fry's grocery store and near a large post, I spotted another penny. Yippee!

(I just looked that up thinking it was spelled yippy or yippie. No. It's yippee. Who knew? Not me! But now we do.)

I posed the pennies next to a drawing my granddaughter did online. She and her brother came over yesterday and she made Ashly (she thought maybe she'd misspelled it, but that's okay) then. She forgot to take Ashly home, but you all get to see her. I think she's a superhero!

Have you found any money today? This week? This month?

Took a Walk and Found Two Pennies

Today I walked down a couple of alleys with my magnet to find more junk. I've been dyeing fabric with rusty objects, as shown in the photo. I love this look! I'm planning to use the fabric for some small quilted wall hangings.

So, today I found plenty of rusty junk plus two pennies! The pennies were sort of embedded in the mud from the rains we had Friday and Saturday so are a mess.

Found a Penny at Goodwill

Today was half off day at Goodwill so I hit two of them. At the first one, I was standing in line to check out. Two people were in line ahead of me. The guy checking out paid with cash and dropped a penny. He left. The next person paid and left.

I walked up and picked up the penny! Amazing, isn't it, how coins go unnoticed or ignored?  It is to me anyway.

Found Two Dimes and Two Pennies, Well, Three Pennies

Today I drove to Tucson to pick up my grandson from school then we came back here. It was a long day that started with me going to a screening for drug study at 9 a.m. As I was leaving, I spotted a dime in the parking lot.

Then I ran some errands before leaving Phoenix. I was walking in a parking lot and spotted another dime! I was thrilled, but that wasn't all. I saw a penny embedded in the parking lot, so I had to leave that one.

I finally got on the road and decided, since I had time, to stop at a thrift store I'd seen at Marana. I found a few things but I was more thrilled to find a penny in the parking lot!

I drove on into Tucson and picked up my grandson and we drove to Phoenix. And he only asked me about 20 or 30 times if we were close to Phoenix yet. On the way home, we stopped at Fresh and Easy. He wanted to  get a fruit and cheese platter but I told him I had apples and berries and cheese at home so we'd make our own. On the way out of the store, I spotted a penny! Yay!

We had a great time once we got home. We played Guess Who, took a little walk, ate dinner, played with his popper (a lot), and read some of a Ninjago book. He's snoozing now and I can relax.

Volunteered at the Arizona Beer Festival and Found 8 Cents

Today I volunteered at the Great Arizona Beer Festival, and I am pooped!

I helped at the entrance putting arm bands on sober people for several hours, then I poured beer at the Fate Brewery tent for the rest of the time. I was standing the whole time (from about 12:45 to 6 p.m.), and I'm sure not used to that!

It was a lot of fun. I lead such a sheltered life that this was the first time I'd seen pretzel necklaces!

People called me "Peggy" since we had to wear these lovely name tags. So, when I was pouring beer (to non-sober people), I started making up names for some of them. I didn't get any right but most people were good sports about it and said I could call them Stan or Steve or Doug or whatever name I thought they looked like. Only two people told me their real names (Andy and Howard).

So, after all the standing, then we had to stand around for over a half an hour to wait for the shuttle to take us back to the massive parking lot where we volunteers parked our cars. Once I finally got off the shuttle I staggered to my car. That was from exhaustion, not drink. We weren't allowed to drink.

On the way to my car I spotted these coins in a parking space. Yay! Eight cents! I'm sure if I'd scoped it out more, I'd have found more money but I was too tired to roam around the parking lot.

Found Money: Two Pennies at Two Stores

Today I got my yearly oil change. Yes, that's right. It had been almost exactly a year since I had my oil changed last. I just don't drive that much these days!

So, while I was in the neighborhood I had to hit the local Fresh and Easy and the 99 Cent store. At each, I found some great bargains and a penny in the middle of the floor in front of the cash registers. I posed the pennies next to some patches I'm listing in my Etsy shop.

I tell ya, there is money to be found out there! Have you found any of it lately? Please let us know!
