Last Found Money of 2017: I Did It! I Did It!

What did I do? Well, what have I been griping about this year?

Anyone?

Give up?

I found paper money! The other day I was at the grocery store and while walking back to my car I spotted a dollar bill lying in an empty parking space! Woo hoo! Then I walked through a drive-through lane of a fast food place and spotted another one! In one day! Within 5 minutes of each other.

I was shocked.

But here's a photo to prove it! I also found 68 cents in change. Woo hoo!

So with this $2.68 that brings my 2017 found money total to $54.58. This is my second best yearly total, so I'm happy.

How about you? Did you keep track of your found money this year? If so, how much did you find?

I'd like to wish you and yours a happy new year. I am hopeful that 2018 will be less stressful. Don't forget to eat your black eyed peas tomorrow for good luck!

End of the Year Found Money

Merry belated Christmas / Kwanzaa / Hanukkah / Festivus (whatever you celebrate!). I hope you've had a wonderful season and are having fun with family and friends.

This photo is my grandson and me being bell ringers at a local grocery store last week. It was fun and for such a good cause.

I've been finding some holiday money and thought I'd share it with you today. Since my last post I've found $1.53 bringing my 2017 found money to $51.90. I'm hoping the last few days left will raise it more, more, more!

We'll see.

But this total makes 2017 my second best year (total money found wise) so far for finding money.

And hip hip hooray! One of the pennies I found is a 1945 wheat penny! I love finding those. I also got another wheat penny in some change when I bought something. All in the same week.

Still haven't found any paper money this year though. Arrrggg.

Did you have a good holiday season? Did you find any money (in cards or envelopes)? :)

Mid-December Found Money and Murder on the Orient Express and Swagbucks

It's mid-December and I'm finding a few coins here and there while out running errands. Today I found a penny at the Dollar Tree, yesterday 13 cents at the grocery store and in a parking lot.

By the way, that elusive paper money is no where to be found. Still. None all year. What the heck is up with that!? I keep thinking I'll find a dollar bill one of these days, but no.

But since my last post about a week and a half ago I've found $1.55 in change. It's out there. Are you finding money too!?

With this money, I'm over the $50 mark for 2017. Not bad. That makes 2017 my second best year for finding money. I have a feeling it won't match 2015 though when I found $100+. Darn.

I went to see Murder on the Orient Express today with a friend. I loved the cinematography. Wow, just gorgeous scenery. Have you seen it? What did you think? And did you figure out whodunit? I didn't! And I'd seen an earlier version years ago. Oh well, that's what happens when you live to be old!

So, I was thinking today when I noticed my Swagbucks total jump when I entered a code that I should share my link with you. Why you ask? Because Swagbucks lets you earn money when you shop and you know how I earn swagbucks? I signed up for the codes and they're emailed to me so I just spend a minute each time and enter the code and get anywhere from 2 or 3 points (cents) up to 10 or 12 points or cents. Those pennies add up.

And you know, it's a lot like finding money! Then when I hit 500 points, I redeem them for a $5.00 Amazon gift card. Very cool!

If this sounds good to you, here's my Swagbucks affiliate link. Just sign up and start earning points for yourself. I'll get a little bonus (300 points, I think) if you sign up using my link. I'm at 228 points ($2.28) right now and imagine by the end of the month I'll be at 500. Well, if you sign up, that might be quicker!  :)

But this is not a get rich quick scheme at all, but with all the goofing off I do online, I like the Swagbucks deal because the end result is money!

Finding Money Around Town

This past couple of weeks have been fairly average as far as finding money goes. I've found $1.22 since my last post.

The other day I ran some errands and found coins (still no paper money found this year... grrrr) just about everywhere I went!

Today I ran several errands and what did I find? Nothing.

How about you? Have you found any money lately?

Found $1.11 and Happy Thanksgiving

Since I last posted, I've found $1.11 in change.

Not terribly exciting but just now, I was out running errands and I went to three stores. In the parking lots, on the floor of stores, and in a change tray of a newspaper vending machine I found 32 cents (2 each of pennies, nickels, and dimes).

There's a lot of money just lying around out there. Have you found any lately? Please let us know and have a happy Thanksgiving!

Finding Money: $1.36 This Time

Well, it's been a while since I last posted here but I kept telling myself I'd post when I'd found more money. Since it was literally trickling in a penny or dime at a time, I figured, oh well, just post.

I've found $1.36 since my last post. Yep, that's it. Today I had to run to Walmart because I was out of tissues. And seeing as I have bronchitis and am hacking and coughing and basically miserable, I had to get more tissues.

In fact, I had to get this stuff, too:

But I did find a dime near a check out stand. The highlight. And I'm feeling slightly better, which is good.

Found Money Totals $1.57 and a Canadian Dime

Since I last posted the end of September, I've found $1.67 in change. I also found a Canadian dime in a change tray of a coin machine.

Yesterday I found a quarter and a dime on the floor by a Starbucks in the grocery store. I found the rest of the money in all the usual places:  parking lots, change trays of coin machines and vending machines, floors of stores. The normal places.

Where do you find money?

And in case you were wondering, I still have found no paper money this year and things are winding down. Will I end the year finding no dollar bills or fives or tens? I sure hope not!

Nothing Is Constant but Change

I first saw this saying in a communications class in college. And I immediately loved it!

Nothing is constant but change.

I found these fun shirts with the same sentiment. Cute!

When I saw this saying in college it was on a clear tote bag in pink or gold or neon green (some bright color) letters.

And once again, my found money is all change. No paper money this year at all.

But since I last posted I've found $2.10. All in change. And that's okay! I love finding money!

Yesterday I was tickled; I found a penny, a nickel, a dime, and a quarter! That's rare to find one of each of these coins.

Found Money: $2.41 plus a $2 Euro coin found

So, here we are again. Time to report on my latest found money. Just $2.41 this time but for a couple of weeks, not too bad, I guess.

The highlight of this found money (at least to me!) is the $2 Euro coin I found. It was in the change tray of a coin machine. I get it. The machine won't accept foreign coins but leave it there? Nope, I wouldn't! I have a little stash of foreign coins and my youngest grandson loves collected them too.

If you want to read up on the single currency used in 17 European countries, check out this book

And with the addition of this found money I have passed up what I found last year (2016). Yay! I still haven't found any paper money yet this year and it's kind of driving me nuts! Where are the dollar bills? The fives? The tens? The twenties?

A 2 Cent Euro Coin and $4.45 Found

The past few weeks I've found $4.45 and a 2-cent Euro coin. Not bad!

One place I found money was a little surprising. I went to our little government complex to renew my passport and saw a soda vending machine. I check just about every vending machine I walk past so this was no exception. I found 3 quarters! I had to go back the next day and I checked it again. Another 3 quarters! But since then I've gone back and nothing. Oh well.

Have you found any coins or bills lately? How much? Where did you find it? I still haven't found any paper money this year. I'm getting a tad annoyed about that.

I don't usually promote books here but a friend published her first book today! Check out Deidre Glass's novel, The Power of Water if you like fantasy and paranormal romance. I had the pleasure of reading this before it was published. It's good!

Found Money Blog: A Dime Blank on One Side, a Mexican Coin, and Lots of Coins

I found a fun coin about a week ago. It's a 1999 dime that's blank on the back side. The photo shows this coin in the very front of the picture. I found the one-sided dime in a change tray of a coin machine along with a handful of other coins. I don't get why people leave money behind. I guess so I can find it, is all I can figure.

So, I love my one-sided blank dime, but I also found a Mexican $1 coin! Yay! I also love finding foreign coins. And see the little Adidas token? I don't know what it was used for exactly but I found it in the same change tray as the dime, I think. I found the tiny little charm that is marked "hairzing" today in a parking lot. No idea what it is either but I can't leave junk on the ground. No way, no how.

Okay, I was curious. Evidently HairZing is a brand of hair products. Here are some of the HairZing combs:

So, along with these fun pieces I also found a lot of coins! The total is $4.57. Not a bad amount of found money for a few weeks.

Found Money Blog: $3.70 of Loose Change

So, since my last post (about three weeks ago) I've found $3.70. Not bad for taking the time to look at the ground mostly.

I can't think of anything terribly exciting about these pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters other than now they're mine!

I found them in the typical places:  parking lots, change trays of vending machines, floors of stores, drive through lanes, etc.

I also found a 2014 California State Parks token for Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. It's pretty cool. I looked online and didn't see much about these tokens. Maybe they're used at the park for various services.

I found these cool art deco posters of Big Sur. I love this style of art.

Have you found any coins or bills lately? Please let us know! Speaking of bills, I still haven't found any paper money yet this year. Shoot!

Happy 4th of July! I'm taking it easy tonight. Going to watch some Offspring. Love that show!

Found 58 Cents Today

Today I ran some errands so I parked my car in the middle of a strip mall and moseyed along through the parking lot. Here's where I found money:

  • My first place to find some money was in a fast food drive through lane. I found 7 cents!
  • Then I found a nickel on the floor of a grocery store.
  • I found a dime next to a parked car (and there was a man sitting inside but I nabbed the dime anyway!).
  • Then I walked across the street and found a quarter in a pay phone change tray in front of a grocery store.
  • And the last change I found was a dime and a penny in a parking lot in front of the grocery store.

So that's 58 cents worth of found money. Not too bad!

On top of that, I also found lots more money since I last posted:  $5.12 plus a pfennig (Deutschland) and a flattened penny of a gray whale from Birch Aquarium.

The other day I read an article that talked about enjoying your surroundings and to always look up at the sky. Well, can you guess if go around doing that? I do not. I look down because I have never found money in the sky.

Finding Money, Car Wash Tokens, and Random Coins

This month I've found a good amount of loose change. $4.46 to be exact since May 10. Not bad.

I've also found three car wash tokens and Mexican pesos (10 cent and 20 cent coins). I love finding the random stuff just as much as American coins.

Found Money in Change Trays

Lately I've been finding coins in change trays. Today I saw that the coin machine at the grocery store had a few coins just sitting there waiting for me, so of course I grabbed them! Then later I spotted more coins in a soda machine change tray. Took them too. Those totaled 61 cents!

In the past few weeks I've found coins in several other change trays. You just have to look! There is never anyone around so I figure finders keepers and all that. In total I found $3.04 in the past few weeks including parking lots, floors of stores, and of course change trays.

And earlier this evening my cute kitty was lying in his box looking adorable. Had to snap a picture of that.

Found Money Around Town

Howdy! It's been a few weeks since I've posted but I've been finding money pretty regularly. Today in fact I found a quarter in a bowling alley parking lot. The other day I found some coins at the dollar store and the grocery store. There is lots of money lying around waiting to be found!

Besides the $2.48 I've found, I found a Canadian 25 cent piece and a 1977 Italian lira 50 cent coin. The lira went out of circulation in 1990 so this was a cool find!

I also saw some elk grazing this weekend. So cool!

Every Penny I Find Is Exciting

I don't have too much exciting to report. Since I last posted I've found $1.65 in change. Ka-ching! Actually every penny I find is exciting!

I mostly find these coins on walks and in stores. I do find coins in drive through lanes of fast food restaurants (I rarely eat at these places but walk through the parking lots and drive through lanes), in parking lots (sometimes I spot a coin under a car or right beside it and wait for the people to leave and nab it), and on sidewalks. I have absolutely no shame, in case you hadn't noticed.

Found Money a Month Later

It looks like time has just slipped away from me. I last posted on February 13 and here it is March 13. Cause or coinky-dink? Do you know what that's from? Well, the first time I heard it was from my kids (way back in the day). They'd heard it on Full House.

Anywho, I found $2.41 in that month, almost as much as I'd found all of this year at last post ($2.70). So with this bit added my grand total for 2017 of found money is a whopping $5.11. Woo hoo!

But that's good. It beats that lousy year I had when I only found $4.91 for the whole year!

There's nothing too special about these coins. but one penny is mangled. In fact a little chunk is missing out of one side. Oh well.

I found most of this money on floors of stores, in parking lots, the regular places.

Have you found any money lately? Do tell!

Found Money Blog: $1.16 found

Well, since we last spoke, I've found $1.16 all in coins. Sorry about the glare on this photo but here's the money I've found since I last posted.

I haven't found any bills this year yet. Darn it!

Today I found a quarter on the floor of a grocery store next to a coin machine. Yay! I look all around those coin machines and I bet half the time I find a penny at least.

This time, I found 8 foreign coins in the change tray of a coin machine. I don't get that. I guess people just don't want the coins. Hmmm. I do! I always grab them! I found 1 Canadian dime, 4 Euro coins (2 dimes and a 20 cent and a 50 cent Euro), and 3 Mexican coins.

Where do you find money?

In case you don't find a lot of money, you can always buy some on Amazon!
