Lemons, a Penny, and a Free Sandwich

I rode my bike to my friends' Barb and Les's house to get some free lemons! Yay! I could only take about half because I:

1.  was on my bike
2.  had to put them in my backpack and thought I might tip over if I was too back heavy

On the way home, I took advantage of Jack in the Box's free sandwich deal. I went through the drive-through, and they took my order and everything! On my bike! I didn't want to lock up my bike and go in, blah blah blah. So, as I was waiting, standing there in the drive-through, I found a penny! I had my camera with me but it was in the bottom of the backpack, under the bag of lemons so this picture I took when I got home will have to suffice.

Happy Presidents' Day or is it Presidents Day or President's Day?

Whatever it is (I think it's Presidents' Day), hope you have a happy one. My day is going great because I found a DIME! President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's face is on the dime. I was actually hoping to find a penny or even better, a fiver, since Lincoln is my favorite, but this dime works just fine.

I was out riding my bike (it's GORGEOUS out today in Phoenix, in the 70s, a little breezy to cool ya off), and since there is no school today, I was riding through school parking lots looking for money figuring where there are cars (usually), there will be money (maybe). Yep! I found this dime at 28th and Osborne, Larry C. Kennedy School. I think it's a middle school. Not sure.

Even though there is no school today, it doesn't mean we can't learn a little something. Here's some dime facts from The Coin Alley:

Face on the coin:  Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Words on the front:  "Liberty" along the rim, and the motto "In God We Trust."  The date with a corresponding mint mark above the date.
Design and words on the back:  A flaming torch and two different branches of leaves:  olive leaves to the left and oak leaves to the right. "United States of America" above the torch, "One Dime" below the torch, and the motto "E Pluribus Unum" in the background.
Design first introduced in 1946, still in use today.

No Found Money So a Penny Bank Will Have To Do

It's been a long dry spell. No found money for almost 2 weeks. What's up with that?

But I did go home to Illinois last weekend, and my sister gave me this cuter-than-cute antique tin penny bank. Thanks, Kay!

I Found a Buck!

Okay, so this isn't a buck like a dollar, but it is a buck. A buck rabbit.  The neighbor girl had her two rabbits out for some fresh grass. I love how my bike made it in the shot!

Happy New Year, 2024 and So Long, 2023

Well, here we are. The end of another year. I think this will be the end of my found money blog. I think it's run its course, but I'...
