Happy New Year! Found 2 Cents to End 2014

Today I feel lucky that I found some money to end 2014. I wanted to end the year on a good note and this does it. 

Earlier today I went to Sprouts for a few things and found a penny as I was leaving the store. The penny was sitting up on its side in a  crack in the sidewalk just waiting for me.

Then this evening a neighbor called and asked if I'd take her and a friend to a bar so they didn't have to drive. I was happy to do this then after dropping them off, I went to Fresh and Easy. I found a penny in the self checkout change tray there. 

So, that's 2 more cents found in 2014. This brings my 2014 found money total to a whopping $46.61. That's more than $10 more than I found in 2013 so I'm happy!

I got this wonderful book I Must Say: My Life As a Humble Comedy Legend from my son for Christmas, and it's so funny, just like Marty himself. I just love this guy!

Found Three Pennies in the Street

Today I walked to Sprouts for double ad Wednesday and I spotted a penny in the street, in the gutter actually, then when I picked it up, I saw that there was another one! Then I walked on and in front of a car wash, I found another penny. Yep, in the street!

Check Out the Odd Money I Found Today

Today I took a long walk to Sprouts, and on the way I spotted this dime on the sidewalk. Then I walked over to the gas station and McDonald's but struck out. Nothing. 

Walking along the street, I found the half penny! This is the same stretch of road where I've found other pennies that have been cut in pieces. I wonder if someone cuts them up then tosses them out their car window or what.

Then I went to a drive through and found 2 pennies. At the store, a big fat nothing. Then on the way home I went to another gas station and found 2 pennies. 

Then I spotted a coin in the dirt and it ended up being a penny from Ecuador. It reads:  Banco Central Del Ecuador. Cool!! I can't get a good close up photo of it. It's really dark and not very photogenic. It's up at the top above the half penny. I wasn't going to count this penny but just looked it up and it has the same value evidently as U.S. pennies so I'm counting it! But I won't count the half penny.

Found 6 Pennies Today and Some Glasses

Today I walked to Sprouts for a few things. It's about 8 blocks (a mile) one way I'd guess. Round trip it takes me a little over an hour because I'm pokey and that includes the time in the store.

Anyway, I found 6 cents. Here's where:

• on the way home, 3 pennies at a gas station
• on the way home, 2 more pennies in the street in different spots

I also found these glasses. They must be magnifiers. I'll probably just put them in the donate bag. I have my own glasses.

Found 37 Cents Today

This morning I found a penny in the parking lot here. Then later I had a meeting so while out I ran to Walmart to get a few more gifts. I found 2 pennies on the floor in different spots and a penny on a shelf. Then as I was leaving the store, I found a nickel in the parking lot. 

I went to the dollar store for a few things (tissues since I am blowing my nose lately like a pro) and found a penny and a dime on the floor! 

Then I went to Sprouts again because I was charged for something yesterday that I didn't buy. So, I checked the Starbucks drive through lane again and found 2 pennies, a nickel, and a dime. Yippee!

I just love finding money!

Update:  I went out this evening and found a penny in the parking lot! This makes 38 cents found today.

Found 8 Cents Today

This morning I walked around the block and found a penny on the sidewalk! Then later I walked to Sprouts to take advantage of their 25% bulk sale. On the way I found a penny in a Starbucks drive through then found a nickel on the floor of the store. I found a penny in a parking lot on the way home. Yay!

Found a Penny, a Half Dollar, a Key, and a Guitar Pick in the Parking Lot

Today I took the trash out and wandered around the parking lot. I spotted this penny at the end of a parking space then kept moseying around. 

I had found some trash and was going to throw it away when I spotted the guitar pick and key behind the brick dumpster enclosure. When I picked up the pick, I also saw this Kennedy half dollar! Score! That's the first half dollar I've found.

Found 12 Cents While Out and About Today

Today I had to hit the post office to mail some fabric I sold on Etsy. While standing in line, I spotted a penny on the floor of a counter that wasn't in use. I was about fourth in line. I waited till I was first in line then went and picked it up. It just amazes me that other people never seem to spot money. Oh well. I'm not complaining! Then as I was leaving I saw the other penny in the parking lot between two cars. 

Then I headed to Sprouts for double ad Wednesday. I got some grapes, avocados, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, a red pepper, and chocolate-covered peanuts. Yum! I saw this dime on the floor by a check out lane. Yippee!

Update:  I took a short walk and found a penny in an office building parking lot!

Found 8 Cents Today

Today I got booted out of a drug study (nothing personal, I assure you). So, on the way home, I stopped a few places and found some money! Yay!

I stopped first at McDonald's for coffee and a sausage burrito. On the way to my car I strolled through the drive through and found 2 pennies and a nickel! Then I stopped at a shopping center and found another penny! 

I also went to Fresh and Easy and Sprouts but didn't find any money there. What about you? Lucky lately in the found money department?

Found a Penny at the Grocery Store

Today I ran a few errands:  

~ I went to Sprouts and took advantage of the double ad Wednesday sales (they feature the previous week's sales and the upcoming week's sales each Wednesday; I love it!) but didn't find any money.

~ I went to the post office to mail my sister's birthday present. Here's one of them. (It's a mug rug / coaster.) Nope, I didn't find any money there.

~ I went to Fresh and Easy to get other groceries. In the change tray I found a penny. Yay!

P.S.  It's a few hours after I wrote the post above. I just took my trash out to the dumpster. Guess what I saw when I peered down in there? Four pennies on the floor of the dumpster. What!? That's crazy. 

Last week (or a few weeks ago) I found two pennies in the dumpster and I was luckily able to reach them. Of course I couldn't reach the pennies today unless I'd climbed in and that's not gonna happen! Why do people throw money away? I truly do not understand this!

Found a Dime at Sprouts

Today I ran some errands. I'll have company over the fourth and had to get groceries. At Sprouts, the first store I went to, I found a dime on the floor under one of the check out registers! 

I then went to the library and to Fresh and Easy but didn't find any more money.

Peaches and Pennies -- Happy Memorial Day!

This morning it wasn't burning hot out so I decided to walk to Sprouts. It's about 8 blocks one way, I guess, so it's a little longer than I usually walk, but I decided it's going to be so hot soon and I won't walk any farther than my car!

On my way I got off the sidewalk at some point and pretty soon spotted a dirty penny in the gutter. Yay!  I kept on, taking pictures of flowers, an old wagon in a yard, and other things that caught my eye. I went in to Sprouts and just bought a few things:  these luscious-smelling peaches, some apples, and some granola. But I didn't find any money in the store.

On the way home I walked through a gas station, going up and down the rows to see if would find any money. Woo hoo, I did! I found a penny!

Then across the street from the gas station is a car wash where I saw another penny next to a cone blocking an entrance. Yay!

I know I wouldn't have found these pennies if I'd stayed home! Are you doing anything fun today? Hope so.

Found a Penny Outside and a Dime in a Store

Today I ran to the fabric store to pick up some sew on patches. Walking from my car to the store, I saw this gnarly penny in the dirt. It is a mess:  beat up with a gouge in one side and is so dirty I can't read the year. But it's a penny!

Then I went to Sprouts to stock up on fruit and vegetables (and some double-dipped chocolate covered peanuts since they were on sale!). As I entered the store, I saw this dime on the floor!

Found Eleven Cents at Sprouts

Today I went to volunteer but about halfway through, the power went off. We had to stop and wait for the power to come back on so we gabbed awhile. When the power did come on, we were told to wait and let the computers rest. So we did. We gabbed and gabbed. Then the power went off again so I left. I can take a hint.

I went to Ace Hardware to get a house key made then went to Sprouts for fruit and vegetables. When I went to check out, I spotted this penny by a check out lane that wasn't open. Then in the lane next to me, I saw this dime. Yay!

I was beginning to wonder when I'd find another coin or bill!
