It's Beginning to Look a Little Bit Like Christmas

Living in the desert means it really doesn't look much like Christmas. Ever. Oh well. A few pluses:
  • Mister Tom and I can take a daily walk this time of year (as opposed to during the blistering summers).
  • The sky is blue, the air is warm, I can hang my sheets and clothes out to air dry (all year round).
But people still decorate for the holidays so it is sort of looking like Christmas, I guess.

What about where you live? Does look like December or does it look like an arid wasteland?

But seriously, while I've been out enjoying the lovely weather, I've been finding quite a bit of money. Since my last post (2 months ago, oops!), I've found one dollar bill and a bunch of coins.

I've found $8.51 in coins, in fact, which means I've found $9.51. Yay! I found 4 Sacagawea dollar coins, which was a fun find! I also found 7 random tokens.

These were all in a change tray of coin machine, just left there by someone, which always amazes me.

Better Than a Kick in the Butt; I Found $23.36

Well, it's been about 5 weeks since I last updated my found money report. I hadn't been finding tons of money until last week when, lo and behold, I found a twenty dollar bill!

So, that makes $23.36 that I found since September 5. Not too bad. I'll stick these coins in my change purse and spend them. The twenty is gone!

I used to keep all of my found money in a big glass jar. I did that for years, about 8 years in fact, but the last time I moved, I couldn't pick up the darned jar!

I had to scoop out the coins and paper money and put it in heavy duty plastic bags and plastic shoe boxes just so I could cart it around!

Then I decided, what the heck. I think I'll spend some of this found money. So, I spent all of it.

And that's what I'm doing with my money as I find it now. I keep it till I make a post then I dump it in my change purse and spend it. Why not?!

So, this photo shows the coins I've found since I last posted. I also found some foreign money:  a 2009 Indian rupee, a 2010 Canadian 10 cent piece, and a 1999 10 cent Euro.

And I found some junk:  a key and a blue button.

Last week I broke down and finally ordered Mister Tom Cat this cat stroller. Of course it would also work for a dog, but he's a cat so we call it a cat stroller.

Here he is enjoying his first ride in it. Now he hops in the thing (I keep it in the living room) for a nap or just to smell it.

I'm so glad I finally got this for him. We both get some fresh air and I get some exercise.

Found $8.30 in about 2 months

So, I've been negligent in posting about my found money BUT I finally dumped out my little cup tonight and counted it.

$8.30! Yay!

This is for just less than 2 months. Not bad for just randomly picking up change here and there.

I recently bought one of those beds in a box. This one in fact and it's great! Have you tried one of these? I unwrapped it and put it on the frame all by myself so it's totally doable!

Almost Too Hot to Look for Money... almost

It's June in Arizona. You know what that means. It's hot. It's almost too hot to go out and look for money. Almost.

I still do go to the store (grocery store, thrift store, you know, places), but if the 100-degree heat continues, I'll be curbing my random walks where I purposely go out in search of money. It's just too hot!

Since the last time I posted, I've found $5.26! In the coins, I found two 50-cent coins / Kennedy half dollars. I love finding the different stuff.

My cat just laid down on top of the coins. Great. I'll try to get a photo when he decides to move.

A Pile of Coins Found by Little Ol' Me

I've been finding money as usual. The trick is looking for it! Just yesterday I parked my car in the middle of a large shopping center parking lot and walked to both ends. I found 3 pennies for my trouble. Not much but it all adds up!

Since I last posted I've found $6.04! All in loose change. No bills.

I'm sitting here this evening watching Agatha Christie's Partners in Crime on PBS. I just love it! Have you seen it?

2019 Found Money Update

Well, well. Did you think I fell off the end of the Earth? Nope, but I'm still traveling around and just not in a good routine. That's my only excuse for not posting again this year. I mean, just one post so far. How pathetic is that?

Let's get to it then.

Since the end of January I've found quite a bit of money. $5.72, to be precise. You can see the breakdown below under Facts About This Found Money.

I've been doing a vehicle transport job and have found some money while working. I find most of this found money at fast food places (in the drive-through lane or inside on the floor) that we stop at on the return trip. The job is interesting but is coming to an end since I'll be moving on this next week, but finding money won't stop. No way, no how! I just love finding money and the best part is I can do it anywhere!

So, have you found any money his year? Please share and let us know!

January 2019 Found Money

How is 2019 treating you? Good, I hope.

I've decided to do things a little differently this year with my found money blog. I plan to post just once a month since it seems like the days and weeks and months fly by so quickly. If I can, of course, I'll post more often but this sounds like a doable goal.

So far in 2019 (can you seriously believe it's 2019? I can't!) I've found $2.53 plus a Mexican 50 cent coin. Nothing too earth shattering but better than a kick in the butt.

Here are some Mexican coins available to buy on Amazon in case you want some for yourself.

Just today I found a dime in a drive through of a Walgreens. I always look when I'm near this sort of drive through lane but I think this is the first time I've actually found any money at one of them. Yee haw!

What about you? Have you found any money so far this year? Please share and let us know!

Happy New Year, 2024 and So Long, 2023

Well, here we are. The end of another year. I think this will be the end of my found money blog. I think it's run its course, but I'...
