Found 39 Cents Running Errands

This afternoon I ran some errands and found 39 cents! Here's what coins and where I found them:

• a penny in a restaurant parking lot
• a penny on the floor of a dollar store
• a penny on the floor of the thrift store
• and another penny on the floor of the grocery store
• 4 pennies, a nickel, and a quarter in a change tray at the grocery store

I was on a roll! I just love it when I keep finding money here, there, and everywhere! How about you? Have you found any money lately?

Found 39 Cents This Fine Saturday!

Today a friend and I went to a couple of thrift stores (half off day, don't ya know?) then to a few other stores. 

While out and about, I found 39 cents total today. Here's what and where:

• a quarter at the post office under the counter; just one edge was peeking out!

• two pennies at Michaels in front of a checkout lane

• a dime at the grocery store

Later I walked to another thrift store and here's what I found:

• a penny on the floor of a thrift store 
• another penny out front on the sidewalk as I was leaving

I found the fun little tin with canapé and hors d'oeuvre cutters in it. I'll be listing it for sale in my Etsy shop tonight or tomorrow. The shapes are really cute:  the four card suites, moons, leaves, triangles. Just think of the cocktail party you could have with these fun shapes!

I ran a few errands today and found a mess of pennies. Here's where:

• 2 in my parking lot
• 5 next to a trash can in front of a store
• 1 on the floor of the thrift store

• 1 in a random parking space
• 3 in the grocery store parking lot

Yay! I just love days like this when I keep spotting money. I wish some had been silver but 14 cents is just fine with me!

I spent today with family and tonight driving home, I stopped at the grocery store (found a penny walking in), the gas station since I was running on fumes (found a penny while filling up), and the thrift store (found a dime when I walked in).

Found Two Pennies at McDonald's and a Thrift Store

Today I had another recheck at the drug study (a few more to go. Ugh.). Afterwards, I was starving since we can't eat before the blood draws, so I stopped at McDonald's for a sausage biscuit and decaf coffee. I spotted a penny on the floor. 

Then I did some Christmas shopping and then went to a thrift store in Scottsdale where I saw the other penny on the floor by the checkout register.

I brought the coins home and posed them next to the Poppin' Fresh Doughboy towel I dug out with my Christmas stuff yesterday. Yes, it's a late start but better late....

Found Money! 21 Cents!

Today I got an email saying a DVD I had reserved was in at the Scottsdale library. I didn't want to get out in the heat but wanted the DVD (Foyle's War, Season 4). So, I drove over there and went to a thrift store first. I found one of these dimes there.

Then I went to the library, and the DVD wasn't on the hold shelf. After talking to two librarians I found out that the DVD case was available but no DVD was inside. Crap! So, they reordered it for me. Oh well.

Then I stopped at Fry's for a few groceries. While walking around the store, I spotted the grungy looking dime first then the penny! So, I'm happy that I ventured out. Twenty-one cents. Wee ha!

Found a Penny at Goodwill

Today is half off day at Goodwill so I checked out one (only one; I've been known to go to two or three, so I was good today). I spotted a bright, shiny penny on the floor, so I scooped it up. I also returned some books and DVDs to the library and went to the post office but didn't find any more money. Oh well. I'll take it!

Today I volunteered at Learning Ally then took a little walk where I found a penny. 

Then I drove over to Dollar Tree for some plastic Easter eggs. On the way in I spotted the two dimes in the parking lot right next to each other! 

After I'd spent $11 plus tax (11 items, love that!), I walked to a new thrift store in the same parking lot. Right behind a parked car, I spotted the three pennies on the strip of tape!

I was flummoxed and thrilled!

I kept looking but that was as lucky as I got today. A friend told me I should have bought a lottery ticket. Yes, I should have!

Ran Lots of Errands and Finally Found a Penny

Today I ran several errands (went to two libraries, took a walk, a thrift store [half off day, don't ya know?], and Big Lots!). I found a penny on the floor while checking out at the thrift store.

I didn't find any money all week since Monday because I had grandkids at my house from Tuesday through Friday. Fun times! We went on walks and to a park and even though I found quite a few coins, each time I pointed it out to one of them and let them keep it. So, today, since I was by myself, I kept the penny!

Here's what I remember of the found money my grandkids found this week:

• One grandson found a dime in the parking lot.
• The same grandson used his metal detector at the park and found a buried penny!
• My other grandson and I took a walk and he found 14 cents! That was pretty exciting!

Found a Penny in an Alley

Today I ran some errands:

-  hit a church thrift store that keeps odd hours but the sandwich sign was out on the sidewalk (found a roll of vintage ribbon:  $.25)

-  stood in line at the post office for 20 minutes (doh, should have gone to the postal annex in the card store)

-  returned some books and movies at the library and picked up more

So, then I parked my car on a side street and walked up and down a few alleys with my magnet. I spotted a penny on the ground and scooped it up. The photo shows some of the junk I found (I threw away quite a few really junky pieces and sorted a lot of nails and screws and put them in a separate container). What makes this junk special, worth saving, you ask? I don't know. But I love the wire with the twisted part and loops at the end and those washers have a lovely rusty patina. By the way, I had to actually bend over to pick up the broken tile pieces. My magnet won't pick those up.

Found Two Cents and a Rock to Paint

I ran some errands this morning, first to the thrift store (half off day!) and found a penny as I got out of my car and was walking in. Yay! Then I drove to Dollar Tree (needed gift wrap, coffee filters, all that stuff that I see no sense paying more than a buck for) and found another penny  on the sidewalk right in front of the door. Yay! Yay!

I also found the little rock on the right in the photo. I've been doing some rock painting and thought he had a good roundness to him. We'll see what I come up with.
