Hello 2021 and Paper Money!

Yes, I've been negligent about posting here on my found money blog, but I haven't been negligent about finding money. And I'm talking coins AND paper money (always a thrill for me to find)!

Earlier in January I found a one dollar bill at the park, stuck in a bush, low to the ground. I was thrilled!

And I was finding coins here and there, as usual. Mostly in parking lots and drive-through lanes, on the floor of stores, in change trays of vending machines or coin machines. The usual places.

The last week I was walking in a wash (a dry sandy creek bed, unless it rains a lot and then it gets wet but rarely gets running water here in the desert), and I spotted this! Right over there...>

Yes! A ten dollar bill!

To say I was thrilled is an understatement! It was dirty but fine. I brushed it off and called it good.

I kept finding money but when my cat knocked over the little stacks of coins (again!) this morning, I decided it was time to write a found money blog entry.I had to recount the coins and quickly took a photo. Ends up I've found $16.73 this year so far! Those paper bills really boost the total.

So, how about this crazy weather? I feel lucky to live in the desert about now. Warm all the time (mostly).

We did get a little snow storm in January, but it lasted about 20 minutes.

Here's the money I've found so far. Oh, and I found a Canadian penny!

I also got a new rug for my living room. It looks a little like this. My carpet is really stained and I didn't want to pay for it to be ripped up and replaced. I love my new rug!

How about you? Have you found any money yet this year?

Well, here we are. The end of another year. I think this will be the end of my found money blog. I think it's run its course, but I'...
