Rounding out the Fall with a Windfall

So. I just keep finding money.

Just today I found a coin at the post office. I saw a little circle propped up against the wall in front of an empty counter while I was standing in line.

The postal clerk at the counter next to the empty one called me forward and after I gave her my packages, I told her I saw a coin and I'd be right back. Then I went to get it.

A dime!

With that dime my found money since last time I posted totals $10.34! Yay! Not bad for about 6 weeks of just spotting loose change around where I go.

This brings my found money this year to $51.28. Yippee!

I had to order some things on Amazon the other day (you know, the exciting stuff like vacuum sweeper bags and dishwasher soap), and I just found out you can buy gift cards on Amazon. Who knew? Probably all of you guys. I'm usually late to the party, but that's okay. Nothing new there.

With my pile of coins I found, there are five foreign coins! See them in the picture up there on the lower right side:  the large one is an Italian L100, Mexican $1 and 10 cent coins, a Russian 10 koneek coin, and a shiny Canadian penny. Love finding these cool coins.

I also found a 1945 wheat penny. Woo hoo!

How about you? Have you found any money lately?

End of Summer Found Money

Well, the end of summer is upon us. Living in the desert makes the summer a not-so-pleasant time. It's just too hot. And this year has been a banner year for rainfall here, which is a great, wonderful, sorely needed thing, BUT it also means everything is growing and there are bugs everywhere!

I am pasty white and mosquitos love me. I have no idea if being pasty white has anything to do with why skeeters love to bite me, but they are prolific this year and real biters. So, I'm looking forward to cooler weather and for the bugs to die.

I volunteer once a week and someone had one of these in the break room. It worked! Zap!

The heat and bugs haven't stopped me from being out some, though I'm not walking as much as I'd like. It's hard to do when it's 95+ out and the bugs attack. But here and there, I've found some coins.

In total, I've found $4.42 since I last posted. Yay!

How about you? Have you found any money lately?

July and the Found Money Is Piling Up

Whoops! I just checked and I last posted in early April. So sorry! Here it is almost August and I finally decided last night I had to tidy up my coinage so I could claim the table again where I keep my tiny bowl where I put my found money.

So, here we go.

As you can see from the photo, I found two dollar bills plus a bunch of coins since April. In total I found $10.70! Woo hoo!!

That makes $36.52 found so far this year. Love it!

Have you been watching the Olympics? I'm so not a sports fan but for some reason I like to watch the individual events every four years. How about those skateboarders? I find all that stuff fascinating. Like how they make the board jump and then they land on it and keep rolling. Or how when they fall they don't break everything.

How about you? Have you found any money lately?

Has Any Bunny Found Any Money Lately?

I have!

Happy Easter (and forgive me for my stupid pun).

I'm just hanging out today watching Mindhunter on Netflix again. I loved it so much that I decided to watch it again. One reason I wanted to check it out again is because I'm reading the book A Serial Killer's Daughter by Kerri Rawson, the daughter of BTK (Dennis Rader).

I wanted to rewatch the show to see how they portrayed this serial killer and how it compares to Kerri Rawson's story.

So, back to found money. Since I last posted, I've found more paper money, which is always a happy event! I found these two dollars on the floor at the grocery store. People were just walking right by them so I scooped them up.

I also found a ton of coins and in total I found $9.09. That brings this year's found money total to a whopping $25.82! Love it!!

In the coins I found a 1948 nickel and several foreign coins. Yay! Love finding the oddball stuff.

Hello 2021 and Paper Money!

Yes, I've been negligent about posting here on my found money blog, but I haven't been negligent about finding money. And I'm talking coins AND paper money (always a thrill for me to find)!

Earlier in January I found a one dollar bill at the park, stuck in a bush, low to the ground. I was thrilled!

And I was finding coins here and there, as usual. Mostly in parking lots and drive-through lanes, on the floor of stores, in change trays of vending machines or coin machines. The usual places.

The last week I was walking in a wash (a dry sandy creek bed, unless it rains a lot and then it gets wet but rarely gets running water here in the desert), and I spotted this! Right over there...>

Yes! A ten dollar bill!

To say I was thrilled is an understatement! It was dirty but fine. I brushed it off and called it good.

I kept finding money but when my cat knocked over the little stacks of coins (again!) this morning, I decided it was time to write a found money blog entry.I had to recount the coins and quickly took a photo. Ends up I've found $16.73 this year so far! Those paper bills really boost the total.

So, how about this crazy weather? I feel lucky to live in the desert about now. Warm all the time (mostly).

We did get a little snow storm in January, but it lasted about 20 minutes.

Here's the money I've found so far. Oh, and I found a Canadian penny!

I also got a new rug for my living room. It looks a little like this. My carpet is really stained and I didn't want to pay for it to be ripped up and replaced. I love my new rug!

How about you? Have you found any money yet this year?

Happy New Year, 2024 and So Long, 2023

Well, here we are. The end of another year. I think this will be the end of my found money blog. I think it's run its course, but I'...
