Found Change in the Parking Lots

Today I took my recycling out to the dumpster and then meandered around the parking lot a bit. At the front of the complex, I spotted a nickel! Then I looked through the open fence to the outside and saw what I thought was another nickel. 

Well, I high-tailed it through the gate, propping the gate door open with a rock since I didn't have my keys with me, to scope out that parking lot. I walked over to where I'd seen the coin. It was a quarter! 

And I found two pennies lying in the same parking space. Yahoo!

I think someone dropped this change and it just bounced here and there. I hope I didn't miss any!

Found a Penny in the Street

I drove over to my son's today and we took the kids to Peter Piper Pizza. Let me tell ya, a good time was had by all! 

On the drive back home, I was stopped at a light and glanced out my driver's side window. There, lying in the street was a penny! I unlocked the seat belt and the door and got out and snapped it up! Luckily no one was coming so it was a piece of cake.

Love finding money in the street (and anywhere else!).

I spent today with family and tonight driving home, I stopped at the grocery store (found a penny walking in), the gas station since I was running on fumes (found a penny while filling up), and the thrift store (found a dime when I walked in). 

I posed my found money next to a small treat I'll be enjoying in a bit.

The Dime That Got Away

Today I went to Fry's for a few things. As I was checking out at the self-checkout register, I noticed a dime on the floor and walked over toward it. Well, a Fry's employee was emptying the trash and was right there, practically on top of it. I realized he would get it and I wouldn't. Yep, I wasn't in the mood for a brawl over a dime so I retreated, paid for my groceries and came home.

But I did find a penny on the floor near the coin machine. Check those coin machines, people! At least the penny didn't get away.

Watched Four Customers Walk Past a Dime at Target

Today I went to Target for a gift for my grandson. I saw a coin from a distance in a checkout lane. There were two customers checking out, so I didn't feel like I could barge up there and say, "Excuse me" and get it. I wanted to, mind you, but I didn't. 

So, I left and did my shopping (I got him Uno and bought some cat treats) and came back and sure enough, the coin was still there. There were two different customers in line. I got in line behind them and watched them both walk right past the coin, which by now I could see was a dime.

When it was my turn to check out, I reached down and picked it up. It's amazing to me that four (at least four) people walked right by this money! But I'm not complaining!

Recycled Cans and Scrap Metal and Found 2 Cents

Today I finally rounded up my aluminum cans I've been picking up for months and headed to the recycling center. I had a lot of cans and some scrap metal that I'd picked up with my trusty magnet.

This photo shows the receipt and cash ($16.65!) that I got for my junk, plus two pennies I found while I was out and about.

On the way to the recycling center, I spotted a penny on the road ahead of me. Yay! Found money in the street! Luckily, I had to stop right next to it so I opened the door and snapped it up! 

Then at the recycling center parking lot, I saw the other penny half buried in the dirt. Of course, I snapped it up, too.
