Today I ventured out since I have sort of been sticking around home the past few days. I rode my bike up to Fresh and Easy. It's about 5 miles round trip, which really doesn't seem that bad on a bike. I sure wouldn't walk that far though.
After I parked my bike and locked it up, I found this penny near the shopping carts. Ta da! I went in and shopped knowing I couldn't buy anything heavy or bulky because it had to fit in my backpack. (Dora singing "Backpack, backpack" just entered my brain.) I did find a wilting basil plant for $1.94 (on clearance) so brought that bad boy home.
Oh! On the way home, I saw a cute little yappy dog, a Pomeranian, I think, roaming around right on a busy street, so I followed it and tried to get it to stop so I could check its tags or to even see if it was wearing tags. It led me a couple blocks, we went down an alley, then it stopped and it looked like it was going to let me pet him (he peed several times, it was a him) when all of a sudden he went all Cujo on me and snarled, bared his teeth and growled at me. Then he came at me and they don't call those little things ankle-biters for nothing. I said, "Phooey" (actually I cussed) and let him roam. I went on home.

Peggy - your blog is so much fun to read. I'm always stopping to pick up pennies too. My husband tells me I'm going to get run over one day.
ReplyDeleteMy sister always stops by the car wash when she is out walking. Apparently people drop coins when they are feeding the car wash coins in.
