Checked the Mail, Found a Penny

I ventured out a little while ago to check the mail. There was no mail, but I did find a penny in the parking lot!

Found Penny and Coleman Sandals

I went to Big 5 Sporting Goods today because they had an ad for $14 sandals. That's my kind of price. So, just inside the store, I found this penny on the floor.

And I found these sandals. I didn't even know Coleman made sandals but as often as I buy footwear, that should be no surprise. Anyway, on the other side of the little tag, it reads:  This Coleman footgear is developed to enhance performance and enjoyment of both the great outdoors and everyday life.

Hard Hat Harry and a Penny

I had a few visitors the past couple of days. My daughter and grandson stayed over night, and we went to the library then to the grocery store. Right behind the rear tire at the store was this penny. 

We watched this Hard Hat Harry, 2 exciting adventures, rescue adventures and police cars! DVD that we got at the library several times. You know how that goes with a 3 year old! Good ol' Hard Hat Harry. Good times.

Went for a walk today with two of my grandkids. Saw some chickens. Smelled some flowering bushes. Picked an orange blossom just to see what it looked like. Watched a waterfall in an overflow reservoir. Found a penny.

Road Burn

Tonight as I was leaving the grocery store parking lot, I spotted a penny out my side car window. I had just backed out of the parking space and a truck was behind me, but that didn't stop my pursuit of the penny. No!

I braked, opened my car door, put the car in park, and leaned out to get the penny. The penny was farther away than I thought and I got road burn on the hand I reached with. It's a memory already. Gone.

So here's the penny. It's seen better days, for sure. Very beat up. Like Abe got in a fight and lost.

Lemons, a Penny, and a Free Sandwich

I rode my bike to my friends' Barb and Les's house to get some free lemons! Yay! I could only take about half because I:

1.  was on my bike
2.  had to put them in my backpack and thought I might tip over if I was too back heavy

On the way home, I took advantage of Jack in the Box's free sandwich deal. I went through the drive-through, and they took my order and everything! On my bike! I didn't want to lock up my bike and go in, blah blah blah. So, as I was waiting, standing there in the drive-through, I found a penny! I had my camera with me but it was in the bottom of the backpack, under the bag of lemons so this picture I took when I got home will have to suffice.
