Found Money Blog: 2 Days, 17 Cents

Okay, after my windfall of finding a $10 bill, I'm back to reality. 

Yesterday I braved the heat and found 2 pennies on a short walk. 

Today I ran some errands and found a dime and 5 pennies at the grocery store.

Yay! Seventeen cents.

Found 17 Cents at the Store and on a Walk

This morning I went to the grocery store since I was out of milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, you know the drill. Anyway, I found a penny on the floor as I was leaving the store.

Then later this afternoon I walked to Sprouts for their double ad Wednesday sales. On the way, I didn't find a plug nickel (nor a regular nickel or anything else), but on the walk home I found two pennies in the street, three pennies at a gas station, another penny in the street, a nickel in a drive through lane, and a nickel in a parking space in front of an Ace hardware store. 

A worker was out front and saw that I found some money, and we got to talking. He said, "It's always good to find silver money," when I told him I found a nickel. I agreed. Then he told me that one time he found a $100 bill! He was in line at a store and dropped a dollar bill and when he reached down to pick it up, he saw a bill folded into a tiny shape. He put it in his pocket and later unfolded it and saw that it was a $100 bill! 

So cool! The most I've found was a $20 bill once. How about you? What's the largest denomination of money you've found?

Found 17 Cents Today

Today the weather was perfect here. The temperature was in the low 70s and it was overcast with some sun peeking through. So, I took a walk.

In a shopping center I spotted a penny on the ground then saw three more pennies sitting on a concrete pedestal holding up a light. I walked on and found another penny in a parking space then another in a fast food parking lot. Then I saw a penny in the street (the really chewed up one in the photo). 

Later I went to Michael's and found a dime on the floor when I was checking out. That makes 17 cents total found today!

Finally Feeling Better and I Found 17 Cents

Today I finally ventured out again, having just left the house last week to go to the doctor and a quick trip to the store. I'm recovering well from the shingles. Ugh. Can't believe I got shingles!

I just checked and there's this handy dandy book to understanding shingles. I would have liked to have known more about it before I became afflicted!


Today I went to the thrift store to drop off some books. I'm trying to declutter inch by inch. Seven books out the door. Yay!

Then I headed to the library where I had some books on reserve waiting for me. Then I went to the grocery store where I found four coins:

• a penny in a change tray
• a nickel in the change tray of a copier
• a penny on the floor
• a dime near a checkout lane

It had been almost a week since I'd found any money so I was tickled pink!

Found 17 Cents and 2 Pennies Were at the Same Place as Yesterday

Yesterday I posted about finding a bunch of pennies on the street beside my car. I noticed one when I was back in the car, but I had to go since the light turned green. Today I went to the post office, which was only a few blocks from this spot, and I found two more pennies there!

I also found a dime and two pennies at the grocery store and three pennies in two different parking lots.

Found Money and Vintage Hankies

This morning I took a walk and found a dime and seven pennies! They were scattered about:  at two gas stations, at a fast food restaurant parking lot, in some rocks (in two different places). I just love finding money!

I posed these coins next to a vintage hankie a friend sent me. She volunteers at a Habitat for Humanity Re-store in Florida and bought it for me there. Isn't it pretty? I just love it!

I haven't seen Mary in years but we used to work together and we play Words with Friends online so we keep in touch. Getting this pretty gift in the mail made my day! I have a few vintage hankies for sale in my Etsy shop if you'd like to take a look.

Found 17 Cents Today While Out and About

Today I had to go to the post office so I parked across the street and trucked on over. I didn't find any money on the way or at the post office, dog gone it! But as I took the long way back to my car, here's what I found:

• a penny in the street, actually IN the street this time, not in the gutter 
• a dime in a parking lot 
• the nickel between two cars as I walked to Wal-Mart

Yay!

The previous two days I found 16 cents each day and that was what I had found at this point. What a coinky dink, I thought!

But then I drove to Fresh and Easy, and in the change tray was a penny waiting for me when I checked out, so today I broke the 16-cent streak. I found 17 cents.

I posed the money next to some button bouquets I made last night while watching TV. I'll probably list them in my Etsy shop one of these days.

Found 17 Cents Today

I went to the post office, library, and Fry's grocery store today. I found a nickel and a dime on the sidewalk after I left the post office then two pennies at Fry's. Yay!

UPDATE:  I went out to take out the trash and found a penny in the parking lot!

Found Another 17 Cents

Earlier this week I found 17 cents (a dime and 7 pennies). Today I found 17 cents (a dime and 7 pennies). Go figure!

I went for a walk today and found the dime and 3 pennies first on a sidewalk then found 3 more pennies in the street. Next I walked through a car wash and found another penny.

While I was out I snapped some photos of padlocks. Yes, padlocks.

Update:  I just took a short walk and found a nickel!

Found 17 Cents on a Walk

With today's beautiful weather, I decided to go take a walk during the day. I did wear a cap because the sun's hot even though the temperature is pleasant. I went a tad farther than usual and spotted 17 cents total. Here's where and what I found:

• 2 pennies by a dumpster
• 3 pennies and a dime in some rocks by the sidewalk
• 1 penny in the street
• 1 penny in a parking lot clipped to a pen cap

It was quite thrilling to just keep finding these coins! I also found the little silver lobster claw clasp in the parking lot here.
