Found a 1965 Penny

Today I picked up my granddaughter from school and we had fun eating and playing on the iPads at their house (not at the same time). Then when my grandson came home the two of them were syncing up in Minecraft. That Steve guy is weird, don't you think?

Anyway, on my way home I stopped at the grocery store and found a penny! And it's a nice older one from 1965.

And this evening I watched Stephen King's A Good Marriage on Netflix. A couple were coin dealers and the guy was on the hunt for a double stamped penny (I guess that's what it's called when the features look like a shadow). That part was fun but most of the movie was creepy. Good but creepy!

This morning I met a friend for coffee and found a penny on the floor! Then we took a long walk and later she found a dime in her parking lot. Yay for us!

Rainy Day But I Found a Penny

We seldom get rain here in Phoenix but today it's rained most of the day. It's kind of nice for a change! This morning I went to Chick-Fil-A for a free chicken biscuit (the coupon expires tomorrow... nothing like waiting till the last minute, huh?). As I left I scoped out the drive through and found a penny!

I didn't go for a walk or bike ride today since it feels sort of cold too, so I wasn't able to find any more money. Boo hoo.

Update:  I just walked outside to enjoy the drizzly rain and found a penny in the parking lot!

Found 16 Cents on the Floor at Fry's

Today I went to Fry's and actually drove since I knew I'd buy some heavy things I wouldn't want to lug home if I walked. 

Well, I spotted a couple of coins on the floor in an empty checkout lane (a nickel and a dime) then found a penny on the floor by a self-checkout register. Yippee!

Watched Wild and Found a Penny

Today I saw the movie Wild and just loved it! I read the book a few years ago and loved it, so I figured the movie would follow suit. They left out some detail but it was fairly long (nearly 2 hours) so they had to trim some fat somewhere. This is still an excellent movie, and if you haven't read the book by Cheryl Strayed yet, I'd do it then go watch the movie. It'll make a lot more sense with all of the background info you get from the book, but it isn't really necessary.

So, this afternoon I took a walk (not a 1,100-mile walk like in the movie, mind you) but a couple of miles, I guess. I found a penny, one lone penny, at a car wash.

Found a Penny at the Dollar Store

Today after I went to the post office I walked to the Dollar Tree for a few things. On my way in the store, I spotted a penny on the threshold so I snatched it up! 


Have you ever had Utz potato chips? I am hooked! The Dollar Tree started selling them a few weeks ago and I just love them. They're so good! So, I got a bag and a few other things. Yummy!

They only sell the regular chips but this looks like a lovely variety available on Amazon!

Found a Penny While Donating Yard Sale Rejects

Today I drove to Chandler, Arizona to a friend's sister's house. They were having a yard sale and were nice enough to let me bring some of my junk to sell. And some of it did indeed sell, but I also had plenty that didn't make it to a new home. That stuff I donated to Goodwill. While unloading it, I found a penny on the ground.

Found a Penny Inside the Gas Station

Today I had to get gas (as opposed to simply having gas) and had cash so went inside to prepay. On the floor by the counter was this penny!

The green colander on the other hand will be going in my Etsy shop for sale. I found it recently and love it but don't need it. I really like it though. A lot.

So, I decided I'm going to list it on the high end and if it sells, okay. If it doesn't sell after the 4 months it'll be listed, it's mine!

Found a Penny on a Ledge and Play Money

Today it rained here cooling it off nicely, so around 4:30 I decided to take a walk. I headed to the shopping center with two groceries stories, not really in need of anything but knowing by taking my money along I'd walk that far and get a bit more exercise.

After leaving one store with a couple of kiwi fruits,  a few tomatoes, and a bunch of kale, I spotted a penny on a ledge of the building. Sweet!

I went to the second store because I really wanted an avocado but all of the small ones at the first store were way too ripe. So, I got one at the second store plus a big roll I can use for two sandwiches along with a package of sharp cheddar cheese. I didn't find any more money but that's okay.

Well, I lied. On the way home I did find a play dime. It caught my eye, looking just like a real dime at first glance! So I picked it up and brought it home so I could show you. See?
