Found 60 Cents on a Walk

Today I headed out on a walk and found a mess of coins! Sixty cents worth!

Here's what and where:

• 3 pennies, 1 dime, and 1 quarter in a McDonald's drive through lane
• 3 pennies, 1 nickel, and 1 dime in a bank drive through lane
• 2 pennies at a gas station behind a parked car
• 2 pennies in the street on the way home

I just love finding money! 

I'm starting a new project today and will keep you posted. It has to do with found money, by the way!

Found 14 Cents Today at the Grocery Store

Today I went to the grocery store and found 14 cents in the change tray! One of the pennies is an old wheat penny, a 1954 penny. The mint mark is S (San Francisco). I rarely find coins with the S mark.

I took my two grandkids to McDonald's after school and they found a ton of coins in the drive through at the first window where people pay. My granddaughter found 52 cents and my grandson 15 cents! I gave them each a quarter because I wanted one of the nickels she found. It was a 1954 just like the penny I found! What a coinky dink.

Found 34 Cents Today

Today I had an appointment in the morning and stopped at McDonald's first. I found a dime and eight pennies there! Then I went to the post office and while walking back to my car, I found a nickel in a parking space. 

Then at the dollar store I found a dime and a penny! Yay! Thirty four cents to end out the month!

Found 41 Cents Today on a Walk

Today I walked to the grocery store and on the way I saw a penny in some rocks by the sidewalk. Then I walked to a gas station and found a penny in a parking spot. Then I went to McDonald's where I found 27 cents. 

On I went and I found a dime in a Starbucks drive through lane. Then as I was coming out of the grocery store, I found a penny on the sidewalk. And lastly, I found a penny in the street when I was just about home.

Another Banner Day for Finding Money

Today I ended up finding 58 cents! Woo hoo!

First I took a walk and found money in the street (3 pennies and a nickel), in a McDonald's parking lot (2 pennies and a nickel), in some rocks (1 penny and 1 dime), near another restaurant entrance (1 penny), and in some more rocks (1 penny). I found 28 cents before I got home! 

Then I had to run to the library to return a couple of books that were due today. When I was walking back to my car, I found a nickel and a quarter in an empty parking space! So add 28 and 30 and that's 58 cents.

One of the books I returned was The Taxi-Dance Hall by Paul G. Cressey. This book was published in 1932 and is a fascinating look at taxi-dancers in the 1920s and 1930s. You might know these dancers as dime-a-dance or nickel dancers. Men paid 10 cents to dance with a girl; the owner got a nickel and the dancer got a nickel. Really interesting reading.

Found a Penny on the Floor at McDonald's Today

Today I did something I rarely do:  went to McDonald's. I found a penny on the floor near the counter so it wasn't a totally wasted trip. The food though is just blah and sits like a lead weight in my stomach, so now I remember why I don't go often.

Found Five Coins That Total 14 Cents

Today it rained here so I took a walk. The air felt so good--cool and refreshing. It even sprinkled on me a little bit. Felt great!

Today I found a penny in the parking lot of my complex then found a quarter in the rocks near my front door!

Today I met some friends for brunch then after I walked around the large shopping center parking lot to work off some of the yummy food! I found 3 pennies.

Then I took a walk just now. It's absolutely beautiful out. I found a penny by some recycling dumpsters then found 10 pennies and 2 dimes in the McDonald's drive through!

Super Bowl? Super Day to Find Money!

I don't watch sports but I took a walk today and found a lot of coins! 19-1/2, to be exact. Yes, I found half of a penny. See it in the photo in the bottom row. Weird, I know.

• 1 dime between two cars and 8 pennies in the drive through at McDonald's

• 1 penny in a shopping center parking lot near some recycling dumpsters

Found 14 Cents Today in the McDonald's Parking Lot and Drive Through

Today I took a walk and headed over to the McDonald's to check out the parking lot (found a penny then a dime) and the drive through (found 3 pennies). It's amazing all of the money that gets dropped.

I think I'll go check out this flyer tomorrow at a car dealership. The prizes? $25,000 (enough to buy a Chevy Camaro, they say), $100, a $2 bill. I'll be happy if they hand me a $2 bill. Will report back if I go to let you know if I win big or small.

Today I took a long walk, about an hour and a half. I these found six coins:

• a penny in the street

• a dime in yet another street

That's 32 cents total. Yay! I love finding money!
