Found it, just couldn't get it

Last night as I was driving home from Scottsdale, I was stopped at a red light at the intersection of MacDonald and Scottsdale Road. I was in the left turn lane and glanced out the window. There in the street in the next lane to my left was a penny. It had been raining so, even though it was dark, the penny was shining, beckoning me.

I unfastened my seat belt, put the ol' Corolla in park, and hopped out to fetch it. Well, that penny was flush with the black pavement. It had been driven over so many times, it was seriously embedded in the asphalt. What a disappointment.

Found it, couldn't get it without some sort of prying implement, which I did not have handy, and afterall, it was just a penny, and I decided my safety was probably more important than doing major road construction at 8:15 at night.

This Found Money FACTS:
Denomination:  penny
Year:  tail end up, couldn't tell
U.S. Mint:  Who knows
Condition:  Shiny but stuck
How many coins/bills found to date:  7 (not counting this bad boy)
How much found money to date:  $.16 (still $.16... you wouldn't budge, you can't go in the money jar; basically, you are dead to me!)

  1. Reading this reminds me of my juvenile delinquent days. My friends and I super-glued a quarter to the sidewalk in downtown Seattle, just to watch people try to pick it up. It really was quite funny.

I wonder if the quarter is still there :)

  3. No, Lori! Don't do it! That would be totally cheating! But do post comments on when you find money. Everyone else, too, please.
