Found a Penny in the Parking Lot at Fresh and Easy

Today on my way in to Fresh and Easy, I spotted a penny in the parking lot. It's mine now!

Found a Penny on a Walk

I took another walk today, down a different alley and I spotted this penny. Yay! Nothing too eventful but I'm always happy to add to my found money jar.

Magnet Walk Nets Phoenix Woman a Penny and a Dime

Today I decided to get out and enjoy this cool weather. I grabbed my industrial strength magnet (that's it in the photo... it's a strong magnet on a stick. I love it!) and took off. I went down an alley figuring I'd get fewer stares. Well, turns out I also found tons of junk that way! I found tons of rusty nails and what not.

It's such a satisfying sound when a piece of metal clinks and attaches to the magnet. I found this penny next to a garbage can.

I kept going and kept finding stuff:  bottle caps, pieces of wire, part of a tiny saw blade, even a railroad tie and yes, the magnet picked it up! Then I found a dime next to another garbage can.

Note to self:  Check the ground around garbage cans for coins.

My Latest Found Money: Two Cents

I had to hit the Dollar Tree today for more packing tape. While I was checking out, I found a penny. Then when I got home I found another penny in the parking lot. It is scratched though that I can't make out the year. It's 1980 something. I can't tell.

The photo shows some very rudimentary watercolors I've been painting. Pitiful but it's fun.

Found Money at Goodwill

Today I went to Goodwill (okay, two Goodwills--it's half off day). At the first one, on the way out I spotted this penny! Yay. At least the trip wasn't a total wash. The store had trouble with their cash registers and the checkout lines were backed up half way to the back of the store. I put the blouse and poker chips back and left.

Eleven Cents at Frys

I stopped by Fry's grocery store today after I went to the post office to mail a book I sold on Amazon and to ship an Etsy item I sold. Then I hit a yard sale. I don't go to yard sales in the heat of summer. I have no idea if people even have yard sales here in the summer, but I seriously doubt it. The weather in Arizona in the Fall, Winter, and Spring is much more conducive to yard sales (or being outside at all). I found this cute crocheted potholder at the yard sale. Then I went to Fry's. I was just going to get some milk to make potato soup tonight but of course ended up getting a cart and stocking up on stuff they had on sale. Since it's cooled off, soup sounds really good. I made vegetable beef soup over the weekend, but it's all gone. So, when I went to check out, I spotted the dime in a check out lane. Then as I was leaving the store, I saw this penny! I snatched them right up.

Volunteered, Post Office, Library, Grocery Store and I found a penny!

Today I actually got to Learning Ally ON TIME. That's the first time that's happened in months. Anyway, I volunteered (read a textbook called PSYCH) then went to the post office then to the library. Finally, I went to Fresh and Easy for a few things. And look what I found. Yes, a penny!

It was in the change tray of an out-of-order cash register. Customers ring up their own orders there; they don't have cashiers. So, I grabbed it because I check out all the change trays when I think of it.

I also added the penny to the found money jar and took a new picture of it. It had been months since I'd done that. It's up there, to left. The jar is full (well, it's actually half full) of change and is getting really heavy!
