Finding Money Here, There, and Most Everywhere

So, this past week has been a busy one. I didn't get out and about much, at least not in places where I could find money, I guess. But when I did I found $1.48! Not bad!

And guess what? I found another dollar bill! It was in an aisle at the grocery store so I snapped it up. This makes two so far in 2018 so woo hoo to that!

This makes my found money total so far this year at an even $6.00. I couldn't do that again if I tried!

We finally got some snow here. This is our first snowfall this winter (including the fall of 2017, since we barely even got any rain). We really need the moisture so I'm thrilled with it. But it's supposed to warm up to the 40s today and the 50s tomorrow so it'll soon be gone.

I could really use one of these:

But instead I used one of these:

What about you? How's the weather where you are? Are you finding some money?

2018 is Looking Up ~ See What I Found!

Well, you know how I spent most of 2017 griping about not finding any paper money (till late December that is). I won't be guilty of that this year!

I found a dollar bill on the floor of the dollar store last week! It was just lying there next to the little candy vending machines. No one was around so I walked over and at first thought it was a piece of paper crumpled up. But when I got closer I saw it was a dollar. Woo to the hoo!!

Here's a photo of Mister Tom checking out the found money for the week.

And in addition to the dollar bill, this week I also found my first foreign money of the year. I found a coin from Tanzania!

PLUS I found another dollar and 42 cents in change! So that makes this found money total $2.42 (plus the Tanzania coin, which I don't count in my found money total).

I looked up the Tanzania money and found this info:

100 Shilingi
1993-2015
Brass plated Steel – 9 g – ø 24.5 mm
KM# 32, Schön# 35

I checked this website and the coin is worth... wait for it... 4 cents US. But that's okay because I'll probably give it to my grandson who collects foreign coins. He can add it to his collection.

So, I was thinking about the money I've found so far this year. More than $2 each week. That means if this keeps up I'm on track to find $100 (or more) this year. Woo hoo! We'll see how long the two dollars a week holds up.

Have you found any money lately? Please let us know.

Starting off 2018 Finding Plenty of Money

Howdy! I hope the new year is treating you well.

I've been finding money right and left this year! haha! Sure, it's only six days in but so far I've found $2.10-1/2! Yes, I found a half a penny today!

In fact today is when I found the lion's share of this found money. $1.50-1/2 to be exact.

I first took a walk around an empty school parking lot and found a penny then a quarter, then I found a dime and a penny in a store, then the half penny in the street, 2 pennies and a nickel in a drive through lane, a penny in a parking lot, a quarter in a newspaper vending machine, a pile of coins in a vacant part of a parking lot, and I don't remember the rest but I just kept finding money. I love that.

The money on the left side is what I'd found from January 1 to yesterday and the right side is what I found today! See the penny cut in half up front in the middle?

How about you? Have you found any money yet this year?

Oh, I also found the ring in a parking lot today. It's "purty" but I'm pretty sure it's not valuable. I'll probably use it on one of my tin can men (well, a tin can woman).

Well, here we are. The end of another year. I think this will be the end of my found money blog. I think it's run its course, but I'...
