What a Great Day for Finding Money!

Woo hoo, y'all! I ran a few errands today and I made a hauling! Here's what happened:

I parked in the Dollar Tree parking lot because from there, I can walk across the street to the post office, which is a pain to get in and out of. I got out of my car and walked around the parking lot a bit near the store and spotted a dime! 
I walked over to the post office and once inside in line, I spotted a penny on the floor. I picked it up.

I mailed my packages then walked up to the light to cross the street. I walked through the 7-11 parking lot and found another penny! Then I stood at the light to cross and as I stepped off the curb, I saw a penny in the gutter! So, of course I picked it up. I walked over to the Dollar Tree so danged proud of myself for finding 13 cents!

I went in the store and bought a few things (I needed tater chips; yes, I needed them.). I didn't find any money in Dollar Tree, which is a shame. It's usually a good place to find a coin or two. I left the store and walked around the parking lot a tad bit more and found another penny!

Yes, I found 14 cents! I posed them next to some pretties I'll be listing in my Etsy shop.

Found a Nickel in the Street

I just took a little walk and spotted this nickel in the street! I was crossing the street (not at a crosswalk, but no one was coming... I'm fine!) and saw something shiny that caught my eye. Yes, a nickel!

I've been sorting my vintage linens and listing a lot of them for sale on Etsy so posed this little guy next to some beauties.

Peaches and Pennies -- Happy Memorial Day!

This morning it wasn't burning hot out so I decided to walk to Sprouts. It's about 8 blocks one way, I guess, so it's a little longer than I usually walk, but I decided it's going to be so hot soon and I won't walk any farther than my car!

On my way I got off the sidewalk at some point and pretty soon spotted a dirty penny in the gutter. Yay!  I kept on, taking pictures of flowers, an old wagon in a yard, and other things that caught my eye. I went in to Sprouts and just bought a few things:  these luscious-smelling peaches, some apples, and some granola. But I didn't find any money in the store.

On the way home I walked through a gas station, going up and down the rows to see if would find any money. Woo hoo, I did! I found a penny!

Then across the street from the gas station is a car wash where I saw another penny next to a cone blocking an entrance. Yay!

I know I wouldn't have found these pennies if I'd stayed home! Are you doing anything fun today? Hope so.

Found a Dime and Surpassed 2012 Found Money!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! That's in case I don't find any money tomorrow, but I'm hoping I do. 

But, today I just took out the trash and walked around the parking lot. I picked up some trash that was lying around and threw it in the dumpsters. People are such pigs, you know?

I walked up to the front of the parking lot toward the street and peered through the fence. In the first visitor parking spot, I mean it was right there, was a coin! I wasn't sure what it was, but I opened the gate and since I didn't have my keys to open the lock, I propped it open with a rock (like we're not supposed to do but I was coming right back through). I walked over and picked it up. It was a dime! Yay! 

I have now surpassed my 2012 found money by eight cents! Woo hoo! And the year isn't even half over yet!

Today I ran some errands:

Yippee! This is the second day this week I found 6 pennies. What are the odds? And I'm just 2 cents away from 2012's found money total!

Found a Money Clip Then a Penny

Today the powers that be ordered us to move our cars by 9 a.m. because they were going to power wash the parking lot here at my complex. They toss around fines like it's rice at a wedding and I didn't want one, so I moved my car. 

They made arrangements to let us park in a nearby commercial parking lot. As I was walking home I spotted this money clip, so I picked it up. Then as I walked back to get my car, I saw the penny outside the complex in the visitor parking area. Yay!

I drove over to see two of  my grandkids and we posed the penny, the money clip and dollar I gave my grandson, and a carrot they pulled from their garden. Nice carrot, isn't it?

Recorded Live, Freaked Out, Took a Walk, Found Money!

Today I did my first live recording (and maybe my last!) for Sun Sounds of Arizona, the new volunteering gig. I read the Yuma Sun newspaper, and it was only for 27 minutes (from 9:30 to 9:57 a.m.). But it was my first time doing a live recording and I didn't feel like I knew what I was doing. 

Oh well, I got through it. I almost lost it during one article when I had to say the name "Pickels" several times. The first time I sort of smiled and almost laughed but didn't . The second time was hard. I had to think of something awful (not the proverbial dead puppies) but just told myself "You cannot laugh. Stop it." So I did.

On the way home, I felt like it needed to blow off some steam so I parked the car and just walked around a shopping center. In the parking lot, all in one parking space, I found these six pennies! Woo hoo! The walk and the found money put me in a better mood!

Found Two Pennies -- Set To Pass 2012's Total Any Day Now

Today I had the final check up for the current drug study I am doing. I'm glad! During the drug studies you can't do lots of things (have caffeine, take medicine even vitamins, exercise is limited, etc.). I have my life back! At least till I sign up for another one!

Any way, I found a penny in the parking lot when I was walking in to the study today. Then on my way out, I found a penny right by my car. Cool! I posed my pennies next to this cute little seal. He's wearing a ring I found, but I thought it sort of looked like a lifesaver.

I also wanted to let you all know that I am rapidly approaching my 2012 total already this year! And it's just May. Last year I found $15.50 and this year I'm now at $15.35! Any day now, I'd say.

Any wagers on when I'll pass 2012's total? Anyone?

Found a Penny and a Nickel

Today was half off day at Goodwill, so I went over to my son's and of course he didn't go but the rest of us hit the Goodwill in their 'hood. It's usually really nice, but you know how that goes. Today there wasn't much good stuff that I needed. My granddaughter found two bead kits perfect for her and I found some little molds for making chocolates.

On the way home I stopped at the grocery store. I found a nickle in the parking lot and a penny on the floor. Yay!

Lucky Day at Fry's!

Today I ran to Fry's to get some cat food and treats. Scarlett's been turning her cute little nose up at the dry food lately so I had a coupon for Iams and got her a bag. 

I did some more shopping then used one of the self-checkout lanes to check out. In the change tray were these three dimes!

I picked up the other junk in the parking lot. That button thing near the bottom says Departed. Can't wait to figure out how to use it in some of my found object art (art? junk creations is more like it).

Found Two Pennies in the Change Tray at Fresh and Easy

Tonight I went to a volunteer dinner at Sun Sounds of Arizona. I just started there and haven't recorded much but it was fun to learn more about the organization and the food was great!

On the way home I ran by Fresh and Easy. When I checked out, I found two pennies in the change tray!

Almost Didn't Go to the Dollar Store Today, But I'm Glad I Did!

Today I had to run to the post office. I wanted to go to Dollar Tree but almost didn't. Am I glad I did! First, the trip to the post office was uneventful (which means I found no money).

But at the dollar store, first I spotted a penny in the main aisle at the right side of the store next to the pool toys and goggles. 

Then I walked over to get some paper towels and dish soap and miscellaneous stuff I refuse to pay more than a dollar for. As I was walking up to pay, I found another penny on the floor in the gift wrap aisle.

Then as I was standing in line, with three people in front of me, mind you, I saw the third penny on the floor. None of the three customers picked it up, so it was mine! Sometimes I can't believe people aren't more observant, but many just aren't, which of course leaves more money for me! So, I'm really not complaining. It just seems weird to me.

Found a Penny Outside and a Dime in a Store

Today I ran to the fabric store to pick up some sew on patches. Walking from my car to the store, I saw this gnarly penny in the dirt. It is a mess:  beat up with a gouge in one side and is so dirty I can't read the year. But it's a penny!

Then I went to Sprouts to stock up on fruit and vegetables (and some double-dipped chocolate covered peanuts since they were on sale!). As I entered the store, I saw this dime on the floor!

A Good Day for Finding Money!

Today my youngest grandson called to tell me he found a $5 bill on the sidewalk while he and his mom were walking to school! That was amazing! I was so happy for him.

Then later today I watched my other two grandkids. We went to the grocery store where my grandson found two pennies and my granddaughter found a dime! Then we took a walk after it cooled down, and they each found another penny and my grandson found a nickel! 

On the way home, I stopped at Fresh and Easy for a few things and I found a dime on the floor. This was a banner day for finding money. Do you ever have great days like this? I hope so!

Found Three Pennies Inside Pilot, Eloy, Arizona

I headed down to Tucson yesterday to meet an online friend and to see my daughter and family. Had a blast! We gabbed, petted a little cute dog, played at a park, ate chocolate dipped cones, played Angry Birds, colored, gabbed some more, ate great food, gabbed, gabbed, gabbed, took a walk (Lori had to carry poor Gizmo half way through the walk), went to Goodwill and Michaels, ate great Mexican food, and brainstormed in there much of the time, too. 

I am tired! 

On the drive home today I stopped in Eloy, Arizona at the Pilot station for gas. I also had to use the little girl's room so I went inside where I found three pennies on the floor at two different check out lanes. Yay!

Found a Penny in the Parking Lot at Fresh and Easy

Today I ran to Fresh and Easy for a few things. On my way out to the car, I found a penny in the parking lot. The penny was in the middle of an empty parking space, which makes me think people drop their coins and they bounce and roll. Therefore, I can conclude that searching an empty parking lot is really the way to go.

Found a Penny in an Alley (without my magnet)

It's been hot here in Phoenix, I mean really hot. A couple of days this week broke the 100°F mark. Ugh. Too hot, too soon. But really just plain too hot! But this morning I stepped outside and it was nice. Really pleasant with a slight breeze, so I checked the temperature online and it was 74°! 

So, I decided to take a little walk while it wasn't blistering out. It's supposed to get up to 93° today, which is still hot so I headed out this morning. 

I didn't take my magnet, but I did walk a few blocks then went down an alley where I spotted this penny! Yippee!

As I walked through the alley, looking for good junk (and more money), I happened to look up (sometimes I don't and wonder later what I missed). I saw this whirly gig thing made out of junk in someone's backyard. I love it!
